Women of Pilgrim

MISSION STATEMENT:  The purpose of Women of Pilgrim is to join women (she/they) in the joy of fellowship with one another through shared devotions, study, relaxation, and service. Through this involvement, may we become more aware of the presence of God within ourselves and in each other.

HISTORY:  On January 24, 1961, ten Church women held an organizational meeting. The meeting opened with a devotion; discussion focused on activities, duties, and need for a Church women’s organization. Four necessary areas of women’s work were defined:  Worship (devotion), Study (programs), Service, and Fellowship. The group chose to be called “Women’s Fellowship.” The first elected officers were Co-chairs Doris Schledorn and Sally Hubber. As a non-profit group, they established a mission statement, by-laws by which to conduct themselves, and a bank account for fundraising. In the 1980s, the group was renamed “Women of Pilgrim.” 

OPPORTUNITIES:  We warmly welcome all women (she/they) to join the fun, comradery, and spiritual support which is experienced through our service projects, programs, and social events! Our ministries include: rummage sales to benefit our community and the church operating budget; memorial receptions; greening of the church, kitchen upkeep; garden parties; Christmas social; outings; programs; and much more. W.P. Board members (Julie Mackley, Kate Vargas, Margrit Firehammer, Colleen Brester, Susan Crawford-King, and Val Cox) would love to visit with you! All interested women (she/they) are welcome to attend W.P. Board Meetings on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am in the Conference Room or via Zoom.
